Secondary
Key Stage 3-5
11-17 years old
The secondary school at Star Al Twar includes children in Year 7 – Year 13 and is separated into three phases: Key Stage 3 (Year 7, 8 and 9), Key Stage 4 (Years 10 to 11), and Key Stage 5 (Years 12 and 13).
About learning
Students in Key Stage 4 work towards their General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) qualifications. The work covered in Key Stage 3 prepares students for the move to GCSEs, therefore it is vital that they complete the full Key Stage to have the best foundations for GCSE in Year 10 and Year 11. Students in Key Stage 5 complete their ‘Advanced Level’ qualifications in up to three subjects. These are the pre-qualifications needed for university.
Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 offer a hybrid pathway incorporating BTEC subjects, GCSE and A-Level subjects; our offering is exceptionally broad and can be adapted based on the interests and abilities of the student.
